When my Son was about 12 months old, I decided that I would dedicate one day a month to take him on a creative/cultural outing. Once a month doesn’t sound like much, but as you know, time flies with little ones, and before you know it, you’re planning your next outing!

Sydney is positively brimming with creative ideas and for kids of all ages over the coming weeks. So whether you live in Sydney, or are just visiting, here are a couple of great venues to get the kids inspired.

Museum of Contemporary Art

This harbourside gem runs a fantastic Kids & Families series.

The Australian Museum

There is so much more going on for kids here than I had realised. Check out the Australian Museum’s website for full details of all their Kids Program.

In particular, the Mini Explorers: Animal Safari time! caught my eye. If only my Son was a bit older I’d be signing him up for this in a flash! Kids will Western union agent learn about different wild creatures – where they live and what they eat. They’ll also make their own wild animal to take home whilst enjoying songs and stories.
